Typical Application Scenarios and Challenges in the Packaging Industry
In the modern packaging industry, efficiency and precision determine the quality and cost of finished products. From vertical form-fill-seal machines to high-speed labeling systems, every cycle relies on the zero-slip coordination of the drive system. Rubber timing belts, as core components of meshing transmission, have become indispensable power transmission solutions for packaging machinery due to their zero-slip, low-noise, and maintenance-free characteristics

Application Cases & Customer Feedback
Detailed data and technological achievements based on real customer cases. Below is a complete solution for upgrading the synchronous belt of a spinning mill's ring spinning machine in Vietnam.

Issue 01
Phase Drift During Long High-Speed Operation

- Before
- A factory producing large cardboard boxes faced persistent issues with the feeding section of its one-piece box stitcher. During high-speed operation, the top and bottom sheets were driven by different belts. Due to slippage or stretching of the standard belts, the two layers became asynchronous. This resulted in severe "scissor gaps" (misalignment) when the box was formed at the stitching station. This not only affected the appearance of the finished product but also led to a high volume of waste, requiring frequent machine stoppages for adjustments.

- Sables Response
- We retrofitted the feeding mechanism of the customer's stitcher with our high-precision rubber synchronous belts. The steel tension members within these belts ensure they never slip or stretch during operation. We matched the belt pitch precisely to the machine's servo motor system, guaranteeing that the upper and lower feeding mechanisms operate in perfect sync, delivering the cardboard sheets accurately to the stitching head.

- Results with Data
- The asynchronous feeding caused a box misalignment (scissor gap) of up to 3-5mm on finished boxes, rendering many unusable for high-end customers.
- The machine's maximum feeding speed was limited to 45-50 m/min due to belt slipping. After installing our high-precision rubber synchronous belts, the machine now runs stably at its designed speed of 70-80 m/min .

Customer Feedback
More stable synchronization during long high-speed operation, with smaller quality fluctuations.

Issue 02
Folder Gluer – Eliminating "Wandering" for Smoother, More Accurate Folding

- Before
- A printing and packaging plant encountered trouble with its folder gluer when processing cartons with smooth, coated surfaces (e.g., pharmaceutical or cosmetic boxes). The existing folding belts lacked sufficient grip, causing the carton blanks to wander or skew frequently during high-speed transport and folding.
- This led to inaccurate glue application and distorted box shapes. Furthermore, the spliced joints on the standard belts often left unsightly marks or scratches on the printed surfaces, resulting in product waste.

- Sables Response
- After upgrading the belts, the carton blanks ran smoothly and maintained precise positioning throughout the machine.
- Wandering and marking issues were completely resolved.
- The finished boxes met the customer's requirements for folding accuracy and aesthetic quality. The machine could now run consistently at high speeds (up to 220 m/min), fully realizing its production potential while significantly reducing material waste caused by rejects.

- Results with Data
- Before the upgrade, the machine could only run at 120-150 m/min for coated cartons to avoid wandering. With our high-friction endless belts, the machine now consistently runs at 200-220 m/min, achieving its maximum design speed
- Throughput increased from 70-90 cartons/minute to 110-130 cartons/minute, a 45% increase in productivity .
- Rejects due to skewed folding, glue misapplication, and surface marking were reduced from 3-4% to under 0.8% .

Customer Feedback
Better wear resistance and more stable operation in hot, dusty textile environments, with much longer replacement intervals.
